Amy’s future on ‘Dollhouse’
Posted by Lisa • On May 20, 2009 • No Comments

Nothing has been made official but this quote from Eliza Dushku does give us hope about the continuation of Amy’s character on Dollhouse:

Now that Amy Acker’s Happy Town pilot has been picked up by ABC, what does that mean for Dollhouse’s Dr. Saunders? — Lynn
MATT: I ran your question by Eliza Dushku when I chatted her up at Fox’s upfront party, and while the Dollhouse lead/producer is unsure just yet Acker’s Happy news will impact Dr. Saunders’/Whiskey’s presence in Season 2, she said that at the very least, “I hope Amy will pop in and grace us now and then.” Beyond that situation, sources assure me that snipped Season 2 budget or not, the Dollhouse staff will suffer no casualties.

‘Happy Town’ trailer and screencaptures
Posted by Lisa • On May 20, 2009 • 1 Comment

I just came across the trailer for Happy Town that ABC showed during their upfronts.  From the trailer, it looks like Amy’s role may be somewhat minor but it’s hard to say with such a large cast.  It could be like Dollhouse where the focus shifts from episode to episode.  You can view the trailer after the cut.  I have also added a small selection of low quality screencaps to the gallery.

With HUGE thanks to my friend Victoria, we now have some amazing new photos from Happy Town.  Added to the gallery are several stills from the pilot episode and a promotional image of Amy – all in beautiful HQ.  A HQ version of the cast photo was also added.  Enjoy this very special treat!

‘Happy Town’ update
Posted by Lisa • On May 19, 2009 • No Comments

The ABC upfronts were today and they’ve announced their fall schedule. Happy Town unfortunately is not on it but don’t get upset. Reliable sources from all over the web have said that ABC plans to air the series midseason. This is actually very good news because now the filming schedules of Dollhouse and Happy Town should allow Amy to remain in both shows. In addition to this wonderful news, I have added the first image from Happy Town to our gallery! A HQ version should be coming soon.

More good news!
Posted by Lisa • On May 15, 2009 • 1 Comment

Today is a good day.  A very good day!  The Hollywood Reporter has just announced that ABC picked up Happy Town.  This is so amazing.  Imagine if Amy is able to be on both shows… YAY!

ABC on Friday picked up three more series, sources said.

The network gave nods to new drama Happy Town and the Courteney Cox-starring comedy Cougar Town, both from ABC Studios.

Additionally, midseason drama Castle, also from ABC Studios, was renewed for a second season.

ABC wouldn’t confirm any pickups until it unveils its fall schedule on Tuesday.

Happy Town is a small-town murder mystery from the team behind October Road, creators Josh Appelbaum, Andre Nemec and Scott Rosenberg and director Gary Fleder.

The cast of the series, which has been an early favorite of the ABC brass, includes Geoff Stults, Lauren German, Dean Winters, Amy Acker, Sam Neill, John Patrick Amedori, Sarah Gadon, Jay Paulson and Robert Wisdom.

It is possible that FOX or ABC could change their minds before the official announcements on Monday and Tuesday, but for now we can be very very happy.

Good news for ‘Happy Town’?
Posted by Lisa • On May 04, 2009 • No Comments

Still no official word from ABC if the series has been picked up yet but tvovermind who lists their source as Hollywood Reporter had this to say:

Flash Forward hasn’t even officially been picked up by ABC yet, and they have already started a marketing campaign, featuring promotional ads during last week’s 100th episode of Lost.  This show has an enormous amount of buzz and is already considered a sure thing.

Eastwick, based on the 1987 feature film, The Witches of Eastwick is also hot at the network right now, and Happy Town, a Twin Peaks-style mystery series starring Lost’s M.C. McGainy (as well as Sam Neill and Amy Acker) is also a front-runner.

I’m keeping my fingers crossed since a renewal for Dollhouse is looking less and less likely.

‘Happy Town’ full press release
Posted by Lisa • On April 28, 2009 • No Comments

I came across the full press release for Happy Town a couple days ago.  It doesn’t say much that we don’t already know but I thought it was of interest.  You can view it after the cut as it is a bit spoilerish.
