The press release lied! Amy was not in last night’s episode. Perhaps her scenes were cut…. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that she’ll be in episode 1.05.

The ‘Dollhouse’/'Happy Town’ dilemma

I found this great “Insider Analysis” on another article about Amy being cast in the Happy Town pilot.

Good for Amy Acker landing a TV…

“But wait!!!!” fans of a certain Joss Whedon-produced FOX drama are screaming, “Isn’t Amy Acker at least a recurring actor on ‘Dollhouse?’”

Well yes. She is. And Acker taking a job on an ABC pilot can either mean something or it can mean nothing and, either way, the Hollywood Reporter casting story offered no hints.

Two obvious possibilities:

1) Acker’s Dr. Claire Saunders, already mentally and physically scarred, isn’t long for this Earth. That isn’t a spoiler, kids. I only know what happens in Episode Four and, as far as I know, Acker’s character remains alive. After that? All bets are off.

2) Acker and the rest of the “Dollhouse” cast have seen the show’s ratings and they’re aware that even on a Friday night, 4.2 million viewers isn’t cutting it. So they could just be hedging their bets. In such cases, most actors would have it in their contract that the existing show would be in first position, meaning that if “Dollhouse” gains momentum and FOX decides to bring it back, ABC would have to recast the role in “Happy Family.” That would only be an issue, though, if both “Dollhouse” and “Happy Family” had schedule slots for next season and Acker’s character survived on “Dollhouse.”

Just don’t read too much into it! Or at least not necessarily.

Another (very unlikely) possibility is that since Amy’s role in Dollhouse seem to be so minor, she may have the time to shoot both series at the same time.

1.02 Screencaptures

Dollhouse episode two aired last night (as if you didn’t already know). Once again, Amy was only in a couple brief scenes. I guess we’re just going to have to get used to that since her role is so minor. Even so, close to 100 high definition screencaptures have been added to the gallery.

So what did you think of last night’s episode? Without giving anything away, I can definitely say I liked it better than the premiere. Be sure to sign up at the forums where you can discuss the episode in depth and talk about other Amy related things.

‘Dollhouse’ episode 2 – tonight!

A friendly reminder that episode 1.02 ‘The Target’ airs tonight on FOX. Be sure to tune in or watch it via the FOX website – we need to get those viewer numbers! Tonight’s episode (according to the press release) promises to feature some history into Amy’s character. I can’t wait! Expect the high definition screencaptures sometime tomorrow.
